NFL Fines Jalen Ramsey $15.000 Over Unsportsmanlike Conduct

Jalen Ramsey, the five-time Pro-Bowler, was once again fined by NFL for unsportsmanlike conduct.

NFC’s championship game last week on Saturday was colored by another inappropriate conduct by one of the Los Angeles Rams players, Ramsey, an All-Pro cornerback who was fined $15,000 for his actions against the San Fransisco 49ers.

“#Rams CB Jalen Ramsey was fined $15,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct, freaking out at the officials and throwing his helmet. He also went head-to-head with #49ers K Robbie Gould at the end of the half,” said NFL’s network Ian Rapoport on Twitter.

Unsportsmanlike Conduct

This was not the first time Ramsey was fined this season. In Week 13, Ramsey put his wallet short on $10,300 for his taunting penalty at his play against the Jaguars, according to NFL’s network Tom Pelissero. Fortunately for Ramsey, he wasn’t the only Rams player fined in the NFC title game. The team also had Ben Skowronek, who was fined $4,000 for an illegal hit.

Ramsey’s action in the earlier season which he was fined $10,300 against Jacksonville Jaguars gave the Jaguars a free 15 yards run. In that game, he was flagged. Fortunately, in this game which fined him $15,000, Ramsey was not flagged for the incident. NFL felt that it was enough to fine him instead in the last weekend.

“49ers kicker Robbie Gould and Rams CB Jalen Ramsey exchanged some words at the end of the half after Gould made his FG,” said NFLonFOX on Twitter.

At that moment, Ramsey was not happy with the officials and one of the 49ers members, Robbie Gould after he kicked his field goal at the end of the first half which led them to lead the game with a 10-7 lead.

Although Ramsey was not flagged in the game, he made it obvious that he did not appreciate what Gould did for a reason and made sure the officials know how he feels. In a video on Twitter by @MySportsUpdate, Ramsey and Gould got in each other’s face before Ramsey finally throws his helmet to the turf. Players and officials break them away.

Rams vs. Bengals

In three postseason, Ramsey has been the captain of the second team during Ram’s journey to Super Bowl LVI. Ramsey has 9 total tackles and 3 passes defended in the playoffs. Ramsey and the rest of the LA Rams will have their hands full this coming February 13 as they face the Cincinnati Bengals with Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd. Although, he needs to keep himself and his behavior at its best for the big game if he wishes to help his team achieve glory this coming Sunday, making sure that he is not flagged or fined.

Meanwhile, Ramsey was revealed that he was nursing an injury. While there is still time for Ramsey and the injured ones to recover to the field, according to the team report, Kevin Modesti on Twitter, February 5, stated that Ramsey and several others are on the list of being questioned.

With the shoulder injury, it is still unknown whether Ramsey will play in the next game against the Bengals. Hopefully, the next report injury cleared out Ramsey from the list.
